As the Everest Premier League (EPL) continues to draw major names in cricket, Nepal’s premier Twenty20 franchise cricket event has added another big name. Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistan captain, has been named as a participant in the next Everest Premier League (EPL) T20 2021, which will be hosted by Nepal. Afridi will be turning out for the Kathmandu Kings XI in the EPL 2021.

After a successful international career, Afridi is a significant figure who is scheduled to play in the league. The veteran has represented Pakistan in 27 Tests, 398 One-Day Internationals, and 99 Twenty-20 Internationals and is widely regarded as one of the best in the world.

The Kathmandu Kings XI, one of the six teams in the league, announced Afridi as their key signing for this season on Monday. In past editions, Kings XI have also brought in Sri Lankan all-rounder Farveez Maharoof and Irish great Kevin O’Brien.

Afridi brings a wealth of international and domestic cricket expertise to the table. To name a few, he has played in the Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League, and Bangladesh Premier League.
